With the recent trend of smart homes, Samsung is one of the manufacturers that has not started in the market with the expected boost, however, the manufacturer seems to bet on three new Smart Home devices endorsed by its SmartThings brand.

Although many would think that it is the expected Galaxy Home, the truth is that the company acquired by Samsung in 2014, SmartThings has launched three new products different from the brand’s smart speaker, it is the SmartThings Cam, the WiFi Smart Plug and the Smart Bulb Three low-cost accessories for those who start the Smart Home Trend.

According to the official announcement, the SmartThings Cam has a cost of US $90 shooting in 1080p at an angle of 145 degrees and changes to night vision in conditions with little or no lighting. It can capture HDR images and has bidirectional audio.

Another advantage of the SmartThings Cam is that although it has an affordable price and well below Google Nest Cam, it offers HDR and Full HD quality video recording, bidirectional audio, people detection.

It also has storage support in the cloud for 24 hours, at no cost for storage of four cameras. If you want to add additional storage with the 30-day backup option for up to eight cameras for US $7.99 per month or the US $79.99 per year.

SmartThings apps for iOS or Android will allow monitoring from your mobile device or through the Samsung FamilyHub Refrigerators. It has voice control with Alexa, Google Assistant and, of course, Bixby.

Samsung Smart Bulb is a smart 9 watts LED light bulb with 806 lumens nominal output, because it has a cost of US $10, uses Zigbee 3.0 and is based on the hub or hub for connectivity.

Additionally, SmartThings WiFi Smart Plug is a plug that allows you to program its operation through the use of an application or the use of voice commands. Versions compatible with different markets will be launched, such as those of EUU and Europe, and the management is simple since a physical button is integrated, and by using this will turn off the accessory. It costs around $15, making it even more attractive than the model offered by Amazon.

It can also be attenuated automatically, but it may not have the capacity to show other shades of white and more like others of greater cost. Samsung could be betting on these new smart home devices to reach more buyers on the SmartThings platform. The SmartThings Cam, Smart Plug and Smart Bulb are available as of today.
