Tiktok’s new initiative into education is a response to the demand it has seen from users. He hopes that educational videos will become some of the most popular and engaging videos on the platform. – Sachin Sharma, Director of Sales and Partnerships at TikTok

Tiktok has already partnered up with startups like Vedantu,  Toppr,  Made Easy and Gradeup to come up with the required educational content for its new platform. It is also going to mentor about 5,000 people across India along with Josh Talks and the Nudge Foundation.

According to a report, Josh Talks was able to reach out to more than 35 million users in less than two months via TikTok. This number was huge in comparison with other social platforms. What is more amazing is that more than 10 million educational videos have been created and shared on TikTok in a couple of months.

Sachin Sharma claimed that the TikTok education videos have already gathered more than 48 billion views though he did not reveal any financial structure of their deal with its creators.

The millennials are being dependent upon eLearning day by day. People prefer to refer to the internet rather than books. Therefore, a lot of new edtech based startups are increasing nowadays.

Edtech apps like Byju’s, Udemy, WordPress, BoostHQ already have millions of users. Looking at it, we should wait and see that if Tiktok succeeds to dominate them all or not.
