Intel’s Xe Graphics on the upcoming Tiger Lake processor clocks 1.65 GHz

A new benchmark data has been revealed which shows the performance of the unreleased Iris Xe Graphics. The Iris Xe Graphics is integrated in Intel’s 11th Gen Tiger Lake processor, whose release is imminent in September.

Intel Tiger Lake processor architecture features Willow Cove core and Xe-LP graphics. The 11th gen processor is based on a 10nm SuperFIN fabrication node. Its expected performance is said to be twice that of the Ice Lake series. Tiger Lake processor will help to bring in ultra-thin and compact laptops which can run on very low power.

According to data in SiSoftware, the Iris Xe Graphics clocked at 1.65 GHz which was 100 MHz more than the previous benchmark test data. The clock frequency exceeded all expectations and ran at a very low power of 28W.

The Iris Xe Graphics has clocked 1.55 GHz on a Geekbench test. However in that case the graphic device was marked as a desktop variant, which suggests that it could be Intel’s Desktop Graphics Controller.

The Intel Tiger Lake processor integrated with Xe GPU architecture promises to bring a new display engine with upgraded power management and also a completely upgraded connectivity, which will include support to the first release of PCle 4.0, Thunderbolt 4, and USB 4.

The Xe GPU architecture is said to be the most efficient architecture for Intel PC mobile terminals. It can easily run most mainstream games with rich graphics.
