According to the certification sites, Snapdragon 875 has been named Lahaina and codenamed SM8350. The name Lahaina is derived from the name of a city in Maui, which is one of the 7 islands in Hawaii.
The Snapdragon 875 has surpassed all previous records in the AnTuTu benchmark scores. Previously Asus ROG Phone 3 which has the Snapdragon 865 Plus in it, has the highest AnTuTu benchmark scores of around 629245 points.
Previously, many SoCs have been launched by Snapdragon with the ‘G’ tagging. They are Snapdragon 720G, 730G, 765G, 768G, and so on. However, this new powerful beast will have a G in it or not is to be seen once it is released by the company.
The Snapdragon 875 Plus has churned out the AnTuTu scores of 847868 recently and even will take over the Exynos and other powerful processors. Kryo 685 CPU will be present in this Snapdragon processor and thus will be powered on the Arm v8 Cortex technology that has been launched recently.
1+ 3 + 4 can be said to be the core configuration and there will be new additions of Prime Cores like Cortex-X1 CPU Cortex-A78 to boost the Performance. Cortex-A55 are the smaller cores that might be used.
The new cores will boost performance to a huge degree. The CPU Cortex-X1 is powerful than Cortex-A77 by 30% and 23% improved than the Cortex-A78. Cortex-X1 will also enhance the machine learning experience in the devices it will be used, giving double the performance in this than Cortex-A78.
