The Control Panel in Windows 10 might become redundant as Microsoft plans to add the features and settings in Microsoft 10 app settings to serve the same. The user interface of Control Panel has been made vestige over the years, with Microsoft focussing more on the Settings app.
The new update now redirects from the control panel system page to the app settings on clicking, which is happening in the 2020 update from October. The old systems allowed third-party apps and shortcuts to properties, becoming incompatible with the new updated system.
Though there have been new graphics and themes, the Control Panel is all liked with its functionality and familiarity. The company’s step is only to keep the various system offerings updated.
The new app settings are surely more interface friendly and keep up with the new developments, but people who grew up before this era of graphics and digitization have been familiar with this for so long.
It is for us to see how the new app can help solve the Control Panel’s problem and then determine the functionality of the same and whether it has fared beyond the Control Panel.
The blocking of third-party apps also causes a lot of problem for developers and people, having cheaper alternative solutions to work on their projects
