For quite a bit of time, Qualcomm has been working on its budget chipsets for pocket-friendly smartphones. And finally, Qualcomm is coming up with its Snapdragon 480 5G processor. According to the reports, it will release the chipset on January 4, 2021.
To keep up with the latest technologies, people are also upgrading their smartphones from 4G to 5G. While 4G phones have so many budget-friendly options, 5G phones still come at middle range options.
They will also be available at a budget-friendly price shortly after Qualcomm reveals Snapdragon 480 5G processor’s revelation.
Mukul Sharma, a Techmaster, shared the news on Twitter on January 4, stating that in all likelihood, Qualcomm will reveal the processor on that very day. According to his report, this 8 nm chipset features Kyro 460 octa cores and can clock up to 2GHz.
This new chip will also support up to 120Hz refresh rate for displays and be Wi-Fi 6 ready. The report also claims that it will offer a 100 per cent improvement in performance over the previous generation’s Snapdragon 460 and the Adreno 619 GPU.
The 11nm 460 octa-core Snapdragon chipset also has Wi-Fi 6 solution. If the claims are true, we will soon be looking at the 5G budget-friendly smartphone option with the Snapdragon 480 5G chipset.
However, the news is yet to get an official stamp from Qualcomm. Till then, stay with us for more information.
