Amazon will be launching its first wearable, which will be a pair of smart glasses with the Alexa voice assistant built-in. According to the reports in the Financial Times, the most promising feature is that the smart product will look like a normal pair of glasses. This will use bone-conduction technology so that the user can hear Alexa without needing earphones or conventional speakers. The other part of this wearable is that it won’t have a screen and camera.
Reports also further state that Amazon is working on the home security camera, which will be separate from its overextending Echo devices. When it was leaked, people assumed it to be an ordinary camera. As in the Amazon Echo Show, it caters to unusual details from other security cameras. It seems to be a feature frozen by the company for usage in the upcoming flagship models.
The company is thus planning to launch one of these devices this year as we have noticed that the regular Echo speakers did not change with the announcement in 2014 and remained out of stock. According to rumors, the successors will be introduced soon. It would be quite difficult to conclude anything at this point; rather it would be better to wait for the final outcome of the efforts taken.
