Tesla recently announced in a short Tweet that the automaker had launched the latest two offerings, the Tesla S and the Tesla X. The updates that both the models come with are comprehensive and quite an upgrade from its previous ones.

The biggest upgrade is that both the models have received is in the interior. The cars now come with a 17-inch portrait touchscreen infotainment system, doing away with the vertical-tablet style layout of the previous versions. Although the new touchscreen layout has been included, the previous 12.3-inch digital display remains the same. For the second-row rear centre console, the automakers have added an extra 8-inch display.

Another major upgrade, or rather a change, pertains to the steering wheel. It does not feature any stalks, and the buttons on the body of the steering wheel will be used to operate turn signals. The upgrade also includes charging pads, a 22-speaker sound system with active noise cancellation.

That concludes the major changes made inside the cabin. As for under its hood, a new Plaid trim replaces the Performance trim. This will help Model S to reach 96 KMph from 0 in just 1.99 seconds, while the Model X could do that in 2.5 seconds. The top speed for Model S is clocked at 322 KMph, and for Model X at 262 KMph. Model S will have an additional Plaid+ variant, giving the car an all-electric range of over 837 KM.

The new tweaks to both the Model S and the Model X are available in America and various other European locations. Although recently Tesla announced that it will enter the Indian market, and the initial hurdles have already cleared, there is no word from the company as to when the Model S and the Model X will make their way to India.

Tesla in India is supposed to kick off its production with the Model 3 sedan which could be priced somewhere around INR 60 lakh. Seemingly, the Model X and the Model S could start production right after the Model 3.
