It appears as if the Chinese tech giant, Huawei, will have a very productive and busy year ahead of them. Huawei has come up with its own smart car solution, which the audience will get to experience through the upcoming ARCFOX Polar Fox Alpha S model, which is new gen of smart luxury pure electric cars.
Reports claim that the new electric car will first be introduced in the Chinese market, and will be launched in Shanghai on April 17. Huawei has sent out an invite to witness global autonomous driving. However, that is not to say that Huawei will be manufacturing the car. In a statement, the company has made it clear that the company does not build the cars per se, but does provide carmakers with help so that they could manufacture better cars.
Huawei and BAIC will jointly launch the ARCFOX HBT, the first model ARCFOX as HBT that will first be introduced at the Shanghai Auto Show scheduled to take place in April 2021.
Huawei had announced its LiDAR products, ranging from the 96-line medium to long-range, back in December 2020. The LiDAR developed by the Chinese tech giant is equipped to function properly in various scenarios, such as small long-distance obstacles, short-distance stoppages, near-end protrusions, tunnels, crossroads, basements, etc., especially during active driving. Furthermore, it also comes with the ability to detect the high-speed vehicle. Furthermore, Wang Jun, President of Huawei’s Smart Car Solution BU revealed that Huawei plans to bring down the cost of Lidar to 200 USD or even to 100 USD in the future.
It is highly likely that the BAIC ARCFOX Polar Fox HBT car will also come equipped with the Huawei LiDAR solution. Moreover, the car is also supposed to come sporting 6-millimeter wave radars, 12 cameras, 13 ultrasonic radars, and a Huawei chipset that can increase the power to up to 352 Tops.
