My Little Pony: A New Generation, a Hasbro My Little Pony film, will be released on Netflix on September 24th, and the streaming service has now unveiled the official trailer and poster for the upcoming animated feature.
We get our first genuine glimpse at the Earth Pony in the trailer, who, after meeting a unicorn named Izzy, embarks on an expedition to bring all the different types of ponies back together to restore Equestria’s enchantment.
In addition to Sunny and Izzy, the trailer shows two more new characters from the My Little Pony universe in action: Pipp Petals and Zipp Storm, two royal Pegasi. Pip and Zip were previously shown to fans in April for National Siblings Day, and they can be seen alongside Sunny, Izzy, and another Earth Pony Hitch on the official poster released today.
The unthinkable has occurred: Equestria has lost its enchantment! Unicorns, Pegasi, and Earth Ponies are no longer buddies, and they now live in separate species. Sunny (Vanessa Hudgens), an idealistic Earth Pony, is determined to restore magic and unity to their world.
Together with open-hearted Unicorn Izzy (Kimiko Glenn), the journey to far-flung countries, where they meet charismatic and brave Pegasi Pipp (Sofia Carson) and Zipp (Liza Koshy), as well as the ever-responsible fellow Earth Pony Hitch (James Marsden).
Their mission is full of mishaps, but these new best friends each have their own distinct abilities that could be exactly what this poniverse needs to restore magic and prove that even small ponies can make a great difference.
Vanessa Hudgens (Sunny), Kimiko Glenn (Izzy), James Marsden (Hitch), Sofia Carson (Pipp), and Liza Koshy star in My Little Pony: A New Generation (Zipp). Ken Jeong (Sprout), Elizabeth Perkins (Phyllis), Jane Krakowski (Queen Haven), Phil LaMarr (Alphabittle), and Michael McKean round out the voice ensemble (Argyle).
Robert Cullen, José L. Ucha, and Mark Fattibene are the directors of the film. The screenplay was written by Sullivan and Gillian Berrow, and the story was created by Robert Cullen & José L. Ucha, and Tim Sullivan. The film was produced by Cecil Kramer and Peter Lewis.
