The American freeware, cross-platform centralized instant messaging and voice-over-IP service, WhatsApp, has just submitted a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.21.22.17.
WhatsApp message rating feature
A new message rating feature has been added to the new WhatsApp beta for Android 2.21.22.7. This feature will allow users to rate company messages in order to provide feedback, and it may be rolled out to Android beta users and select iOS users.
Users will be able to rank messages in terms of stars, with five stars being the highest and one star being the lowest. Currently, there is no way to provide direct feedback to WhatsApp Business accounts.
It’s possible that prior beta users will be allowed to use the feature as well. While it is being received by a number of users on WhatsApp beta for Android, the features tracker reports that it is also being received by a number of users on WhatsApp beta for iOS. Only WhatsApp Business accounts will be able to rate messages.
Furthermore, you will only be able to use this feature if you receive a message from a business account. WhatsApp cannot see the content of a message when you rate it, and it cannot tell who scored it because the feedback is anonymous.
According to reports, the feature does not compromise end-to-end encryption of messages, thus rated messages stay hidden from WhatsApp.
WhatsApp and business accounts, on the other hand, will be able to see general comments on sent messages from the company, but not who rated them. WhatsApp notes in its rating warning that these ratings are intended to assist businesses in improving their customer messages.
In a WhatsApp Business chat, tap and hold a message to activate a dialog box where you can rate it. Previously, the report button appeared alongside copy in you to mark a few unsuitable communications as spam. For beta users, a new rate option has been added.
Future plans for Novi payments
Finally, this latest update includes information about future plans for Novi Payments, a no-fee digital wallet that allows users to send and receive money safely and instantly.
