Today, the American multinational technology company Apple has signed a new multi-year first-look deal with John Skipper and Dan Le Batard, two former ESPN veterans who run Meadowlark Media.
According to Hollywood Reporter, the duo, Skipper, a former president of ESPN, and Le Batard, a former Miami Herald journalist who became a radio and TV broadcaster at the cable sports behemoth, formed Meadowlark Media in January, a month after Le Batard and ESPN split ways respectively.
After ESPN Radio stopped airing the Dan Le Batard Show With Stugotz, Le Batard continued to broadcast it as a daily podcast. Meadowlark has a content and distribution partnership with DraftKings and is currently working on a podcast for the BBC’s Sport’s Strangest Crimes series.
The partnership with Meadowlark Media could help Apple TV+ gain a stronger foothold in sports-related programming, something the streaming service has yet to fully explore.”
