Several OnePlus users have expressed dissatisfaction over experiencing varied WhatsApp crashes, video stretches, and black screens after updating to the latest OxygenOS 12 update on their smartphones.
Recently, the Chinese smartphone giant rolled out the OxygenOS 12 A.03 update on the Oneplus smartphones.
According to the Chinese mobile giant, the updates bring a host of optimizations and bug fixes to the device, including system stability improvements, power consumption optimizations in certain scenarios, portrait mode optimizations for the primary camera, and more.
However, despite the new introducing features, most users who have updated to the latest update faced one or more WhatsApp crashes, video stretched when recording through WhatsApp, and black screen issues.
Expressing his whimper, a OnePlus 6T user who experienced a black screen while playing audio on Whatsapp after updating to the latest version said:
“I am troubled to rid of the black screen problem while playing WhatsApp audio in my Oneplus 6T.”
Similarly, another user lamented that she encountered Video stretched when recording through WhatsApp.
In her words: “When I access the camera to take a photo or record a video through WhatsApp, it is stretched and warped. This happened after the most recent update.”
In addition, a OnePlus 9 user, who just installed the latest update yesterday, bemoaned his dissatisfaction with experiencing WhatsApp crashing via the OnePlus Forums.
Responding to the OnePlus 9 user, another user said:
“Same problem with me too. Everytime I open WhatsApp, it opens and immediately closes/crashes. I do it multiple times and after a few attempts, it opens. But once I close it, this problem appears again. However, I tried it by turning off the internet (wifi as well as sim). It worked !! Seems like when the internet is on, WhatsApp tends to crash each time you attempt to open it and opens successfully when there is no internet.”
Recall that last month; we reported that OnePlus users experienced varied camera issues, battery draining, heating, and location stopped after updating to the April OxygenOS 12 update on their smartphones.
Thus, the mobile brand is hereby called upon to look into the software development as users face varied drawbacks on their smartphones for convenience.
