Fumihiko Yasuda, president of Team Ninja, revealed their plans to release the Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden reboot in the following years.
The Team Ninja-produced series, which is part of Koei Tecmo, has not received a single release since its previous game was released in 2019. The future of the series was a subject of uncertainty. The Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden reboots, however, now seem to be in the works.
Team Ninja made several remarks during their keynote address at the Korea G-Star conference, covering topics including their design ethos and their popularity on a global scale. Their most notable statements, though, came at the conference’s conclusion when they said that new iterations of the cherished Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden reboots are currently in development.
The G-Star Conference is the biggest games industry event in Korea, and well-known developers from Southeast Asia often attend to deliver presentations and launch new titles. In light of this, Team Ninja decided that today would be the best moment to inform fans about the iconic game’s reboot.
The company stated intentions to reboot both of the venerable series- Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden, after the release of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty in 2023 and Rise of Ronin in 2024. Although there were no specifics revealed regarding these reboot projects at the conference.
Even though Rise of the Ronin won’t be released until 2024 and Team Ninja is currently working very hard on Wo Long, it may take years for it to be released for sale. But since Team Ninja is notorious for pushing the boundaries with their game releases, so we can’t predict anything now.
The Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden reboots would please franchise enthusiasts, while also being nostalgic for old fans. It will be fascinating to see, though, how Team Ninja fits the promised titles onto their already busy schedule.
