Airbus Teams up With Hyport to Advance Green Hydrogen Availability at Airports

A Dutch based Aerospace Firm, Airbus, has signed an agreement with HyPort, a joint venture between ENGIE Solutions and the Regional Agency for Energy and Climate in Occitanie (AREC), an emperor in the evolution of Green hydrogen in France, to brace up the development of world’s first low carbon hydrogen production and disturbing stations at an airport.

The hydrogen station building was constructed at Toulouse-Blagnac airport a few months ago. Moreover, the production, storage, and distribution systems are currently in mining. The hydrogen station would be capable of delivering around 400 kg of hydrogen per day, which is scheduled to enter into the effective section in early 2023—providing the probability of fueling up 50 ground vehicles. It would be a considerable count to take the first step before the unexpected big leap.

Airbus has taken over the scene to capture new themes to roll out a curved envelope. Airbus is planning to work with HyPort to address the deployment plan for the broadening of these hydrogen fuelled ground operations. Quietly participating in the production and distribution, alongside an infrastructure capacity, to contribute to the anticipated increase in hydrogen demand in the forthcoming years.

The partnership will likely enable a blueprint to be secured over sketch requirements and provide regulation on the safety of operations, social acceptance, and financial investment necessary for the broad use of hydrogen at airports.

Our involvement with HyPort demonstrates the tangible progress Airbus is making on its journey to secure the future energy ecosystems of tomorrow,” said Karine Guenan, VP ZEROe Ecosystem, Airbus. She explained, “Using hydrogen to decarbonize all airport-associated ground transport in the 2020 to 2030 timeframe will pave the way for hydrogen availability for zero-emission aircraft by 2035.”
