In a bid to enhance its technology industry, Sony Semiconductor Solutions Group has today fixed December 14th to 16th, 2022, for its Advanced Packaging and Chiplet Summit, APCS 2022, alongside the 2022 SEMICON in Japan. At the event, Sony will gather top players in the semiconductor packaging and substrate mounting fields to bring together the world’s leading Japanese companies.
The new summit is set to accelerate the semiconductor industry, with Sony Semiconductor Solutions Group exhibiting the industrial SWIR image sensor IMX990/IMX991. While Sony’s president and CEO, Teruji Shimizu, will be on stage at the grand finale panel.
Yusuke Oike, the head of Sony Semiconductor Solutions Group 1st research department, will give a keynote speech at the advanced device and process session of the seminar “SEMI Technology Symposium” SEMICON Japan 2022.
Sony’s SEMI Technology Symposium
Sony’s SEMI Technology Symposium is the largest flagship conference in SEMICON Japan, where engineers and experts from Japan and overseas who are active at the forefront of each field related to the development and manufacturing of semiconductor devices will take the stage as speakers.
Exhibiting the SWIR Image Sensor IMX990/IMX991
At the same time, Sony is also expected to exhibit the SWIR Image Sensor IMX990/IMX991 at the Advanced Packaging and Chiplet Summit, APCS 2022, which will be held simultaneously with SEMICON Japan 2022 from December 14th to 16th.
Describing the SWIR Image Sensor IMX990/IMX991, Sony said, “I want to be more surprised and moved by the wonderful things that this world is full of.”
Sony’s image sensors were developed out of a desire for light and curiosity about the people and animals surrounding nature. Awed by its beauty, the sensor technology of industrial cameras is catching up with the imaging technology of cameras and smartphones, which is extremely picky about color expression.
Additionally, Sony added that it would introduce examples of how Sony’s wide variety of image sensors are used in semiconductor manufacturing. While the demonstration used the SWIR image sensor IMX990 on the actual machine.
