The gigantic Chinese eCommerce firm Alibaba has appointed a new chief Technology Officer (CTO) and unfastened the president of its cloud computing Services unit, the company reported on Thursday, December 29.
It would have been a substantial upheaval for one of the prominent Chinese companies. While Jeff Zhang Jianfeng, who had managed the Alibaba Cloud business, abdicated from the position only to make Daniel Zhang Yong, chairman, and CEO of Alibaba, acting president of Cloud intelligence.
However, Jeff Zhang continues to further the company’s development by leading Alibaba’s Damo academy, an in-house science and technology research department. Zhang also contributed to the company’s chip development team, T-Head, and its various initiatives that have been watching over from the tower to drop down.
Zhou Jingren has been given the role of CTO of Alibaba Cloud. Zhou Jingren has been working as Deputy head of Damo academy; he also won’t let down his current position and continue in the new role.
In another crucial reshuffle, Wu Zeming, 42, appointed Alibaba’s CTO to recover Cheng Li’s position. In addition, a few changes have been made in the company; Thursday includes the aggrandizement of Jane Jiang Fang, who will succeed Judy Tong Wenhong as Alibaba’s chief people officer.
