In recent times, WhatsApp was reportedly working on the ability to post voice notes as status updates. The feature aims to enhance users’ experience on its platform. Just last month, in the WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.2.0.70 update, the ability to update voice status was rolled out for some iOS users.
The update allows users to have the option to record voice notes by tapping the microphone icon on the status screen. As a matter of fact, it provides a more personal touch to status updates and works as a convenient option for those who prefer not to type or use graphics.
Voice Status Updates For More iOS Users
However, in the past few hours, the company has released the WhatsApp for iOS 23.5.75 update on the App Store: the update fixes an issue that prevented status updates from being downloaded when the app was closed, but it also allows more users to share voice notes through status updates.
A voice message can now be recorded and shared through Status, as stated in the official changelog. To record, simply select the Status tab, hit the pencil icon, and then hold down the microphone icon. You can forward your own voice notes from your chats to status updates, but they must not exceed 30 seconds in length.
Meanwhile, if you don’t have one of these features, be aware that, as stated in the official changelog, some accounts might get them in the upcoming weeks.
