Vivo has just expanded its mobile industry in the Chinese market with the launch of the Vivo S17 series. Earlier this month, the brand confirmed that it will be launching the Vivo S17 series which comprises – Vivo S17, Vivo S17t, Vivo S17 Pro, and Vivo S17e today in China. As scheduled, the brand has finally announced all the lineups in the market.
The smartphone succeeded last year’s December Vivo S16 series. All the Vivo S17 lineups sport the same curved 10-bit OLED displays of 1260 x 2800 px resolution and 120Hz refresh rates and 4,600mAh batteries with 80W fast charging except for the S17e with 66w. They also come with the same operating system of Android 13/OriginOS 3 but they were in different storage capacities and chipsets.
The most fascinating feature of the new Vivo S17 series smartphone is that it comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor for absolute security. Now, let’s take a tour of the devices.
Vivo S17 Series Processor
To enhance users’ experience with the smartphone, Vivo equipped the devices with a different chipset. The Vivo S17 is equipped with the Snapdragon 778G+ chipset, while the Vivo S17t comes with a Dimensity 8050 processor and the S17e features the latest MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chip. On top of all the S17 Pro features the latest MediaTek’s Dimensity 8200 chip.
Vivo S17 Series Camera
Coming to the camera secession, a 50 MP front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture and autofocus is included in the S17 and S17 Pro Series cameras. Additionally, on either side of the selfie cameras are two soft LED flash sensors. On the other hand, the S17e has the highest camera quality with a 64MP + 8MP camera.
While the S17t receives a 50 MP main camera with an f/2.0 aperture and OIS of a 50MP IMX766V primary sensor (f/1.88, 1.0 m native pixels). A 12MP portrait sensor with a 2x optical zoom and an f/1.98 aperture is a bonus for the Pro model. 8MP ultrawide sensors and a ring LED flash are additional features shared by the Vivo S17e and S17Pro.
Storage, Pricing, and Availability
The 8GB+256GB of the original Vivo S17 goes for 2499 while the 12GB+256GB is ¥2799 and the 12GB+512GB is priced at ¥2999. Coming to the Vivo S17 Pro, the 8GB+256GB is priced at ¥3099, while the 12GB+256GB goes for ¥3299 and the 12GB+512GB is ¥3499.
On the other hand, the Vivo S17e and Vivo S17T also come with different storage ranging from 12GB+8GB to 256GB. Unfortunately, the pricing has not been revealed yet. According to the brand, the new Vivo S17 series will go on sale in the Chinese next month starting from June 8.
