Oppo was on the horizon with its novel smartwatch, the Watch X. Today, the nuanced wearable, made its way with flowers on the side in China, following its recent introduction in Malaysia less than a month ago. Most of the fundamental features happen to be the same as the global counterpart; however, to make the Chinese variant much more ethereal, the company has added some worthy adjustments tailored solely for the Chinese market. Let’s submerge into the detailed specification.
Preserving its sophisticated circular design, the Oppo Watch X features a svelte stainless steel case. The front showcases a 1.43-inch AMOLED display, firmly armored by Sapphire Crystal Glass, offering a commendable resolution of 466×466 pixels. Notably, the screen boasts an impressive peak brightness of 1000 nits and supports Always-on Display technology.
On the right side of the case, you can see two physical controls – a rotating dial and a button. Additionally, the watch holds MIL-STD 810H durability certification and IP68 water resistance up to 50 meters depth. Under the hood, the Oppo Watch X is powered by a Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 processor, paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
Software-wise, it laces up its shoes and sprints on two operating systems: Color OS and RTOS, similar to the latest OnePlus Watch 2. Color OS 14 runs on the W5 Gen 1 chip, while RTOS harnesses a separate BES2700 chip paired with 4GB of eMMC storage. RTOS remains active continuously, managing background tasks and lighter activities such as calls and notifications.
One of the touted features is the eSIM support, offering users the ability to make and receive calls directly from the watch, a functionality scant in the global variant. Thanks to the dual operating systems, the Oppo Watch X offers an incredible battery life of up to 100 hours, with a full charge taking approximately 60 minutes.
In terms of health and wellness features, the Watch X comes with an 8-channel heart rate sensor and a 16-channel blood oxygen sensor, which provide continuous monitoring of heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and stress levels. It also offers comprehensive sleep analysis, including a Sleep Snoring Risk Assessment feature.
Furthermore, users can access over 100 sports modes with automatic activity recognition for running, walking, cycling, and swimming. The watch supports dual-band GPS (L1 + L5) with a 5-satellite positioning system, spearheading accurate navigation. Additionally, it offers support for the car key feature in vehicles from brands such as Ideal, BYD, Te Nengxing, Leapmotor, Maverick Electric, and Venucia.
In terms of pricing and availability, the Oppo Watch X can be grabbed in China in colors including “Thousands of Sails Blue,” “Desert Silver Moon,” and “Starry Night Flying,” priced at 2499 yuan, 2399 yuan, and 2299 yuan, respectively.
