Tesla has recently revealed new plans for a Supercharger project which is to be called ‘Oasis’. Tesla has now released the project called ‘Oasis’ on between Los Angeles and the Bay Area. The main subject of this project will be the 11 MW solar capacity which has been collaborated with 39 MWh of Megapack storage capacity, that has allowed Tesla to have minimal grid connection.
This project is said to have 168 Superchargers along with the very own solar farm and Megapack battery system. During the release of Supercharger network, Tesla had initially promised to incorporate solar arrays and batteries to the Supercharger stations. Tesla however has added solar and batteries to only a few stations, most of them do not contain their own power system which is not the fully developed course of action .
Now the Supercharger V4, Megapack, and SolarCity is available but it has been absorbed and then rejected by Tesla. Although even now there’s only a limited amount of solar and battery deployment at Superchargers.
Tesla has therefore broken their silence for the project. However it has addressed that in the lieu of substation upgrade timelines, the company was not able to meet 2025 charging demand.
There has been news that Tesla is still planning to include more grid capacity at this site if there’s a need to increase the number of stations thereby preparing for double capacity.
