Alibaba’s Quantum Labs team has successfully developed Taizhang, the strongest quantum circuit simulator ever, announced today, May 8! Thanks to the powerful Alibaba Group Computing Platform, Taizhang led in Google’s benchmark among the world in random quantum circuits.
The simulator uses only 14% of the computing resources of the platform and can get the most out of the online clustering of the platform. It possesses an innovative algorithm providing minimal communication overhead.
The Alibaba Taizhang simulator finds its purpose in ‘bringing the link up and down in order to communicate with the hardware for compatibility. The introduction of Taizhang follows a series of tech leaders coming up with the new advanced qubit processors. Between February and March 2018, the companies IBM, Google, and Microsoft introduced their own qubit prototypes and processors.
