A selection of Samsung Galaxy Note 9 owners in some countries can now sample the Android Pie beta, along with the new One UI. Samsung on Tuesday officially began expanding its One UI Beta to Note 9 users In the U.S. Sources report that, Note 9 users in the United States, Germany and India can now download the beta.
It’s a welcome move, especially since the Note flagships tend to be costlier, although it remains to be seen if the Galaxy Note 9 beta program will be launched in all markets where the Galaxy S9 beta is available.
Today, it has started rolling out in Germany and India. Registrations for the Galaxy Note 9 Android 9.0 beta can be done through the Samsung Members app. To receive the firmware update, you’ll need to register for the beta program through the Samsung+ app on an unlocked Galaxy Note 9. Registering doesn’t guarantee you an immediate download, but should you receive the update, it’ll come as part of the firmware build N960FXXU2ZRKQ.
After successfully enrolling your Note 9 in the program, you’ll need to download and install the software update in Settings to Software Update. It can take some time for the update to reach your device, so keep checking back if it’s not available right away. As with the One UI beta for Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus users, the Note 9 beta is available to participants as a first come, first serve basis. Meaning at some point Samsung will stop the registration process, preventing new users from joining.
While Pie is an exciting prospect for Samsung patrons, the release of One UI is likely to make more difference to the way they use the Samsung handsets.
