Jio has launched JioRail App for users of the 4G feature phone. The app is expected to make traveling by train easier by allowing users to book train tickets, view ticket history, and check PNR status from their handset itself, making the process hassle-free and convenient.
Those using the app on Jio Phone and Jio Phone 2 can also book emergency Tatkal tickets using the app. To make payments, the JioRail app allows users to use debit cards, credit cards, and eWallets.
The JioRail app is a gateway to the IRCTC train booking service and allows the use of IRCTC ID to check PNR status, book a train ticket, check train information, timings, routes, and seat availability etc. One may also use the app to create an IRCTC ID.
The app basically brings all the advantages of the IRCTC booking service directly to the phones of Jio users. Besides these, Jio is also working on providing users with enhanced services like PNR status change alerts, train locator, and food orders.

The Jio Phone is the telecom service’s very own device, launched in 2017, which received its successor, the Jio Phone 2, in 2018. It runs on the Jio SIM and provides the services of a smartphone on a smaller screen, including the use of WhatsApp and streaming YouTube videos. The JioRail app is the latest to join Jio’s list of smartphone services.
