The debut is close as BMW has released a video teaser of the M variants of the X3 and X4. The new video teaser doesn’t tell us a lot, but we know the new M models will be the most potent versions of the X3 and X4 we’ve ever seen, with a new in-line six engine with “M TwinPower Turbo technology and high-revving characteristics.”
The duo will complement the larger X5 M and X6 M. It hasn’t leaked so much about the performance yet, but the rumor says it will deliver at least 450 horsepower. There will also be an upgrade package that will provide over 500 hp.
The new teaser communicates that the sports will be unveiled shortly, suggesting to the fans to “Stay Tuned.” Well, as the teaser hints, both models will share the same mechanics with all-wheel drive and the 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine. The latter will derive from the unit already present on the M40i versions on which it is credited with 360 hp: on the M versions, the power will, therefore, increase well beyond the 400 hp, but, for the moment, the only official data is that related to the efficiency.
Compared to the versions already available in the range, the two M will also have a dedicated aesthetic kit that will be combined with exclusive interior finishes and specific steering and set-up calibration. It is expected that the cars will show up in Geneva at the motor show in a month.
