For the sake of providing transparency to the user about what actions they’ve performed and permits to flag any suspicious activity they may be seeing on the device.
Google offers very useful security features by which users came to know which devices are connected to their account. So this feature will also help the users to be secure and alert about what’s happening with their accounts.
A new Android Notification feature will tell the users about the newly added device or security event as and when users add a new device to their account. If the activity looks cautious, the user can click on “Review Account Activity”. They will get all the necessary information, like which device was added from what location.
Previously, we’d get an email saying,
Hey, FYI, a new device just logged into your account—if it was you, then no biggie, but if it was a stranger then red alert.
But no one reads the email, actually. And hence, Google decided to send a push notification on Android devices.
According to a survey, people review the Android notifications information as compared to email notifications. So, taking this compendium seriously, Google will take this step to provide more security to its users.
The new feature has been rolled out for worldwide users starting from today and you can get the feature visibility within two weeks.
