As confirmed by Xiaomi’s Founder Lei Jun today, the company’s upcoming flagship smartphone Xiaomi Mi 9, will have a Transparent Edition with 12GB of RAM. Xiaomi itself actively exposed specifications and official renders of the device before its official launch. And now, just a couple of days ahead of its launch on Weibo it has shared a teaser revealing the transparent edition of the Mi 9 in its full glory.
Additionally, Lei Jun has also stated that the Transparent Edition will feature a 48MP primary rear camera lens, but rather than a 48MP 6P lens with an f/1.75 aperture, it’ll have a 7P lens with f/1.47 aperture.
Already much of it is known. The phone will have a waterdrop-notch display offering a 90.7% screen-to-body ratio. The Full HD+ AMOLED display will be supplied by Samsung and will offer 103.8% NTSC full-color gamut and 600-nit brightness with support for High Brightness Mode. Along with this, it will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 octa-core chipset coupled with Adreno 640 GPU.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 Transparent Edition is expected to be the most premium version of the Mi 9, which is likely to come with 10 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. On the back, the device has a triple camera setup with a 48 MP Sony IMX 586 sensor, a 12 MP telephoto lens, and a 16 MP super wide angle lens. While on the front, the smartphone is expected to carry a 16 MP selfie camera with support for portrait mode.
The Mi 9 smartphone will run on MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie and will be the first smartphone to receive MIUI 11 in the future. The Xiaomi Mi 9 Transparent Edition is expected to be the most expensive iteration of the Xiaomi Mi 9. It is supposed to be unveiled on February 20 in China.
