Xiaomi Mi 9 was announced officially at an event held in Beijing. The phone is the company’s first triple camera, along with the fastest wireless charging that has been ever made yet.
Xiaomi Mi 9 brings a significant improvement in fast charging. The company calls it Turbo Charge, and it can deliver up to 27W over USB-C. However, the standard retail package comes with an 18W charger. This phone comes with a fast wireless charger which is up to 20W. The fastest we’ve ever seen yet bundled with a 27W wired charger.
Commenting on this, Xiaomi founder Lei Jun exclaimed that Mi 9 is the first ever phone that takes an hour and a half to get its full charge which is also certified by TÜV. A 20W wireless car charger will also be available. With all this, the battery capacity is necessarily the same, 3,300mAh.
Also, Xiaomi picked the Snapdragon 855 chipset to power the Mi 9. It’s paired with 6GB of RAM, and you can choose between 64GB and 128GB of storage. Game Turbo mode will tune the CPU and GPU to deliver a smoother gaming experience. Regarding the camera setup, Xiaomi Mi 9 has three rear cameras. The primary sensor is 48 megapixels, along with a 20-megapixel camera on the front panel for selfie lovers.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 is available in 4 variants Lavender Violet, Ocean Blue, and Piano Black. The pricing for the 6/128 GB variant is CNY 2, 999 (Rs 31,800). The 8/128 GB option is CNY 3,299 (Rs 34,900), while the Transparent option with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage will cost CNY 3, 999 (Rs 42,300).
