Nubia Alpha is the new hybrid device to bridge the gap between a smartphone and a smartwatch. It is a device with all the features and functionality of a phone but which wraps around the wrist like a fitness band.
The Nubia Alpha foldable smartwatch is a fascinating device presented last year during the IFA Berlin 2018, although it was only a prototype then. Nubia Alpha will not be a simple phone with a flexible screen but will have the ability to become a smartwatch to be able to be attached to the wrist.
This device is an amalgam of a cell phone and a smartwatch; it combines the characteristics of a smartphone and a smartwatch by adapting to it the wrist like a bracelet.
It has a flexible and tactile screen of four inches with a collaboration of Visionox. According to the firm, it is claimed to be offering the largest flexible panel at the moment since it has become 230% larger than the portable screens of standard watches. According to ZTE, it has a 500 mAh battery inside that can be charged using a special magnetic charger, similar to the Apple Watch. It also has a fast charge.
The smart wearable will be powered by the Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset, which is not impressive since it was launched in 2016. The hybrid device will be coupled with 1GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage capacity that is capable of monitoring sleep, heart rate, sports, and more.
Nubia Alpha foldable smartwatch will include activity control functions, music playback, and the ‘search my phone’ option. In the same way, it was known that the terminal would be compatible with the 5G technology, which is being developed by ZTE.
The device will be available in Europe and North America in the second quarter of this year. Nubia Alpha has been priced at €449 (Rs.36, 248 approx) and the eSIM variant will come at €549 (RS.44, 323 approx).
