According to an LG Newsroom post dated March 6, 2019, LG is all set to display its 2019 premium TV lineup the week onwards. This includes advanced OLED and NanoCell TVs coming with strengthened intelligent processors and technology and featuring screen sizes up to 86 inches.

Equipped with LG’s advanced second-generation α (Alpha) 9 Gen 2 intelligent processor and deep learning technology, LG’s W, E, and C series OLED TVs will incorporate, alongside a wider range of screen sizes, an upgraded AI picture and sound quality and access to an extensive database of visual information. The processor would be enabled to recognize source quality, carry out the best algorithm, perform image optimization to display a near-perfect image, and provide optimal screen brightness through ambiance analysis.

Providing HDR experience, even in brightly lit conditions, along with “realistic, immersive audio” seem to be the goals of the new LG TVs, which can be achieved through intelligent adjustment of content to be compatible with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. The α9 Gen 2 is also capable of regulating audio according to a content type, delivering neat and coherent TV dialogues and vocals. The AI is capable of adjusting audio settings to ideal levels based on the ambiance and environment – users will also be able to adjust the settings manually, of course.

Moreover, LG would become the only TV brand to provide additional hardware-less support for Apple and Amazon Alexa AI platforms with its plans to integrate them into the TV. 2019 LG TV models will receive an update to support Apple AirPlay 2 and Apple HomeKit in mid-2019 for uncomplicated and smooth video and audio content streaming and effortless connectivity to Apple smart home products. Along with this, a firmware update featuring Amazon Alexa support will be provided that would accompany the out-of-the-box Google Assistant feature built into the latest LG TV models.
