Panasonic has announced a new digital camera with an interchangeable lens, the Lumix GX880 4K selfie camera. The camera is equipped with a 3.0-inch folding screen at the rear. In addition, numerous creative selfie functions are available, such as panorama, night mode, and beauty retouching.
Panasonic GX880 offers creative photo functions
Panasonic’s newest system camera is equipped with a 1,040,000 pixel touchscreen that can be tilted 180 degrees upwards. As soon as the screen is flipped up, the Self Shot mode is automatically activated. The GX880 supports 4K selfies without having to crop a frame for a wider viewing angle, making it possible to capture subjects in the background and surroundings.
There is a 16-megapixel Digital Live MOS sensor without a low-pass filter built in, as well as a Venus Engine image processor. Together they provide high-resolution photos with great detail. The Panasonic GX880 offers a maximum sensitivity of ISO 25,600. In addition, the Contrast AF system with DFD technology ensures that the camera can focus particularly quickly and accurately. Focusing is possible within 0.07 seconds. Photos can be captured in both JPEG and RAW formats. The system camera also offers Wi-Fi functionality, making recordings easily shared with friends and family via your smartphone.
The camera captures videos in 4K quality (3840 x 2160 at 30p / 25p or 24p in MP4). Advanced functions such as Post Focus, Focus, and Light Composition are also available with the GX880. With Post Focus, it is possible to focus a part of the photo via the touchscreen, even after the photo has been taken. This is particularly useful with macro recording. Photographing in search of more creative freedom will appreciate features such as Creative Control, Creative Panorama, and Photo Style.
The Self Shot mode also entails various interesting functions. The Panasonic Lumix GX880, for example, is equipped with a Night Self Shot mode to capture both the background and the people in the foreground in detail. With the Beauty functions Soft Skin, Defocusing, and Slimming Effects, users can take nicer portrait photos. These filters can not only be used in Self Shot mode but also with normal portrait shots.
