The evolution of mobile phones has made the most common models increase in resistance to withstand from falls to scratches. Of course, no “normal” mobile can be compared to a “rugged” one: these smartphones are characterized by being resistance against almost any accident.
Samsung does not usually produce “ruggedized” style phones, but it does have a range that comes close to that line of protection: the XCover. Resistant, durable, and cheap. Hence, the latest in the company’s catalog is the Samsung Galaxy XCover 4S.
The Galaxy XCover 4s arrives to succeed the XCover 4 with a design reminiscent of the old phones and improved features in almost all sections. First of all, it has the IP68 certification of dust and water resistance and has passed the MIL-STD 810G military standard tests. It also includes the dedicated XCover button, which allows you to customize it to serve as direct access to any of the most used functions, from the activation of the LED flashlight to the start of the device’s camera.
In addition, it has a 5-inch TFT screen with HD resolution, an Exynos 7885 eight-core processor at 1.6 GHz, 3 GB of RAM and twice the internal storage of the previous model: 32 GB (expandable with a micro card SD). It comes with the Android 9 Pie operating system and the most important services of the Samsung ecosystem, including Samsung Pay, as it integrates NFC connectivity. For photography sections, it features an: 16 MP f / 1.7 camera in the rear and 5 MP f / 2.2 selfie shooter in the front.
At the moment, Samsung has announced that the Galaxy XCover 4s will be available in Italy from July at a price of 299.99 euros and in a single configuration with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of capacity. We do not know if it will reach other countries.
