Twitter to Live Stream 1,500 Hours of Esports in 2017 Under ESL, Dreamhack Pacts

Twitter will live stream 1500 hours of eSports competition by new partnerships with ESL and DreamHack. This deal brings more than 15 events in the ESL One, Intel Extreme Masters (IEM), and DreamHack eSports circuits. Through the Twitter app, the events will be available live on the web and mobile devices.

It’s not the first step for Twitter in eSports, but the company has already announced the partnership with Eleague for live streaming last year. The entire live stream will be available via the Twitter app, esl.twitter.com, iem.twitter.com, and dreamhack.twitter.com.

On Saturday 4th of March Twitter will start its live streams with ESL’s Intel Extreme Masters Katowice kicking things off, with pro gamers competing on StarCraft II. These events will feature several titles like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, StarCraft II, Street Fighter V, and Hearthstone which are from the 28th to 30th of April.

There is a possibility that this deal may increase the number of new users on Twitter and provides a way to test the original content. There is an estimation that eSport will reach to billion dollars, either this year or by 2019.
