Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G chipset will be seen in the new Acer Spin 7 laptop. This model was announced in the IFA 2020. It will not be using the Intel Chipset like before as is evident.
This is Acer’s first 5G laptop. Externally, it looks like an updated version of the current model and has squared-off corners with gold detailing. The changes are however quite noticeable. The Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 processor is ARM-based. It supports both the mmWave and sub-6 GHz of 5G. It has been noted that Acer is promising a battery life that will be “multi-day”.
In this laptop, Acer is adding an active Wacom pen. It will also have a 360-degree hinge for utilizing the Wacom pen better. This pen will offer 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity and can dock into the side of the computer for recharging.
The Acer Spin 7 will come with a 14-inch 1080p IPS touchscreen panel that has an Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass. It will also sport two USB-C ports and a legacy USB-A port. The price or the release date of Acer Spin 7 is not known yet. But the specs promise that this will be an interesting laptop whenever it is launched.
