Adobe has released the first version of Photoshop for iPad, and it is available as a 30-day trial. The iPad version supports full PSD editing, layers, context-aware tools, advanced selection tools, retouching and cloud syncing.

Photoshop for iPad was announced in 2018 when the iPad Pro was launched. The version available now is not the full version of Photoshop. It offers the basic Photoshop functions and supports multi-touch gestures like swipe, pinch and so on. The app keeps the user interface minimum showing the controls only when it is needed.

The PSDs created through Photoshop will be the same as the desktop version with all the layers, spot healing, blend modes, and the same resolution. The controls have not changed either. The same swipe, pinch, tap, scribble, slide commands can be used in the app version.

The new retouched photos or documents get uploaded to the Adobe’s cloud and it will be available on any device running Photoshop. The Quick Selection tool, Lasso tool, and advanced selection options are the same to make the user’s selection procedure precise.

Even retouching is available on the iPad app. These are the basics offered by Photoshop. However, in the future, Photoshop will bring more features such as brushes, masks, refining edges, selecting smart subjects, brushes and fonts sync with Creative Cloud.

Photoshop for iPad also supports iPadOS specific features like Split View and Slide Over. Adobe is yet to include multi-window support.

Apart from Photoshop, Adobe has also released the augmented reality creation app called the Adobe Aero for iPhone/ iPads on the App Store. iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max with iOS 13.1 or later installed, iPad Pro with iPadOS 13.2.1 or later installed (Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi + Cellular), iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation), iPad Pro (11-inch), iPad mini (5th Generation), iPad Air (3rd generation) will support the Adobe Aero.

With the help of Adobe Aero, users will be able to create an AR experience without having any prior programming or 3D design experience. It is an immersive user experience that does not need interference from the developers.
