Amazon Cloud Cam bears a competitive price tag in the market for security cameras, but it doesn’t have enough features to complement the tag. However, it is on course to catch up with its opponents, and the same is evident in its receival of features such as web streaming and more.
To begin with, now you can simply check in using the new web interface improvements. Live views can be checked right from the computer even when you don’t have your phone nearby for access. Go to cloudcam.amazon.com to check out your live views.
Next, the Cloud Cam lets you use two-way audio on your Echo Show or Echo Spot. After pulling up the live feed, pressing the mic icon in the screen’s lower right corner will do. It will work like a walkie-talkie, where you’ll only need to press-to-talk and let go after you’re done speaking.
Third, users are now able to receive notifications on motion or person detection on any Echo device. Alerts will pop up on the screen on Echo Show and Echo Spot. Alexa’s ring will turn glowy green on Echo and Echo Dot. The Cloud Cam App lets you adjust notification frequencies as well.
Last but not least, the Cloud Cam can be turned on via Alexa. All you need is to say: ‘Alexa, turn on [camera name].’
Yes, Amazon is making it all convenient for its Cloud Cam users! Previously, this was the only top-tier security cam to just have an app and not a web interface.
