Echo Input, an Amazon product, could turn your old boring speakers into Alexa-enabled smart speakers. The Echo Input can bring Alexa capability to any regular speaker when the two are connected through 3.5mm audio or Bluetooth. After making Alexa available on an increasing number of gadgets and devices besides Echo speakers and Fire TV Stick, Amazon is launching a new companion device in the Indian market.
The Amazon Echo Input is a device that essentially adds Alexa connectivity to your Bluetooth speaker. It connects to your ordinary speaker via a 3.5mm audio cable or Bluetooth connections and turns it into a smart speaker that can perform a host of tasks ranging from playing your favorite songs to checking for weather updates to setting alarms and reminders to booking a cab to even telling you sports score.
The best thing about the Amazon Echo Input is that it is small in size and regarding dimensions; it is 0.5-inches tall and 3.1-inches wide. To put it into perspective, it is smaller than the Amazon Echo Dot or the Google Home Mini smart speakers, and it will disappear wherever you put it.
The overall design is similar to the Echo Dot smart speaker; the Amazon Echo Input is made of a plastic body that features a matte finish. It sports an LED, an action button, a microphone on and off button, and four array microphones on top. At the back, there is a USB port that is used for powering the device and a 3.5mm audio output jack to connect it with a secondary speaker.
The Amazon Echo Input has gone on sale on Amazon India for Rs 2,999. The Echo Input will also be made available through offline retailers and channels like Croma, Vijay Sales, and more.
