This week, Amazon registered 3 URLs related to cryptocurrency – amazonethereum.com, amazoncryptocurrency.com, and amazoncryptocurrencies.com. The first is related to Ethereum, which is an enterprise blockchain technology. The latter two are entirely digital currencies.
These URLs will allow the outsiders to follow the intention of Amazon in entering the cryptocurrency-related markets. Previously, in 2013, Amazon registered amazonbitcoin.com, and it wasn’t applied to bitcoin-related businesses. This URL will directly be imported into the official website of Amazon.
Amazon’s registration suffices for another reason – ensuring that the associated URLs of the company do not get misused by third parties. This further defends the trademarks of Amazon from the tricksters on the online platform, thus taking care of a broad prospect of security.
