Reports from foreign media early today revealed that the American multinational semiconductor company AMD would launch the RX 6000S graphics card for a new generation of gaming laptops with TSMC’s 6nm process by January 4, 2022.
VideoCardz news reported the Advanced Micro Devices, AMD may release a refresh variant of the RDNA2 architecture notebook GPU-Radeon RX 6000S. Other media sources also reported that AMD might develop the upcoming Navi 2X GPU using TSMC’s N6 technology.
It is understood that TSMC’s N6 process, when compared to the N7 process, will deliver AMD’s new GPU with a greater frequency and energy efficiency ratio. TSMC’s N6 technology will also be used in Intel’s forthcoming Arc series. N6 will provide 18% more density than N7, according to TSMC, and will be completely compatible with N7 process technology, reducing transition costs.
Advanced Micro Devices is expected to hold a CES conference at 23:00 on January 4, 2022. The RX 6000S graphics card will be released alongside the Ryzen 6000 series mobile processors. At CES, companies like ASUS, Dell, and MSI may unveil all AMD gaming laptops with Ryzen 6000H processors and RX 6000S graphics cards.
Advanced Micro Devices, based in Santa Clara, California, is a multinational semiconductor firm that produces computer processors and related technologies for both corporate and consumer markets. After being spun off from GlobalFoundries in 2009, the company outsourced its manufacturing, a technique known as turning fabless.
