The tech world is suddenly awake as news of AMD releasing its Ryzen 9000X3D CPU on November 7, 2024, just hit the world. The company themselves confirmed the news on October 21, 2024.
The October Update of AMD reports to the media and on X platforms stated that the next generation Ryzen X3D will arrive on November 7, 2024 However, the company is yet to mention a concrete model for the same. The Ryzen 9000X3D series, similar to the standard Ryzen 9000 CPUs, will be built on AMD’s new Zen 5 architecture and utilize the AM5 platform. This platform offers support for next-gen technologies like DDR5 memory and PCIe 5.0, ensuring improved compatibility and performance across a range of applications.
A defining feature of the X3D variants is their incorporation of 3D V-Cache technology. This involves stacking additional L3 cache on top of the standard CPU chipsets, which enhances memory access speeds and overall performance. In practical terms, this design significantly boosts gaming performance by reducing latency and improving frame rates, making these processors particularly appealing to gamers and enthusiasts.
Recent benchmark leaks have provided insights into the capabilities of the Ryzen 9000X3D series, especially highlighting the Ryzen 7 9800X3D model. This eight-core processor is expected to deliver excellent multi-threaded performance, combining high efficiency with superior gaming capabilities. With the added L3 cache, the 9800X3D may outperform many competitors in gaming scenarios, positioning it as a strong choice for high-performance setups.
Earlier rumors indicated that AMD would launch the Ryzen 7 9800X3D later this year, with higher-end 12- and 16-core models expected to follow in early 2024. On Monday, AMD did not clarify whether the November 7 release would feature only the 9800X3D or additional models. However, a spokesperson referenced a “next-generation X3D desktop processor” in singular form in an email that afternoon.
