With Android 8.0 having its decent share of bugs, the latest Android 8.1 appears to be following the same path. Android 8.1 is yet to be released worldwide & it’s already accused of several issues which are anything but a good sign. Most of the complaints are regarding the incapability of the software to run the multi-touch feature smoothly.
The multi-touch feature is pretty important for gamers. Naturally, they are the ones who are most concerned with this issue that keeps them from having a smooth experience with their games. They have put up videos on YouTube that clearly show how the image on screen begins to jump when the phone’s display is touched with more than one finger simultaneously.
It was previously reported in the developer preview i.e. the beta version of Android 8.1. Clearly, the reports were neglected & as a result of that, it is still there in the public release as well. Google, though has made an official announcement saying that the company is very much aware of the problem, it was kept aside in order to be solved later.
A similar kind of issue was reported by several users while using the Google Photos app in the new update, as well. The aforementioned matter is also being actively discussed in Google Issue Tracker.
Having both the official help forum and Reddit flooded with complaints about this multi-touch bug in Android 8.1 with video proofs, Google had to make some immediate response. The response came today morning.
Orrin, Google employee & the Community Manager at Pixel User Community, was quoted, “I’m digging into this, and will keep you posted with any other information I can get. I might be reaching out privately to a few of you for bug reports as well.”
