One of the first company to roll out a stable Android Pie update for a non-Pixel device back in September was OnePlus. And now it brings the Android 9 Pie-based OxygenOS Open Beta update to both its 2017 smartphones- the OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 5T. The announcement was made via its official Forums. it seems that the company had been closely listening to its user’s demands.
With the latest software updates, it will not only offer you a snappy and pure stock experience but the existing customization options as well. Since the OnePlus 5T sports an 18:9 display panel, OnePlus has added the new navigation gestures alongside the basic gesture navigation of stock Android.
For the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T users, the company has come up with an updated weather app with more accurate weather data, revamped search function, and some other fixes. It is also added with the support for Telegram, Discord, IMO, Uber, and Ola in parallel apps. The new update brings a Do Not Disturb mode with adjustable settings and UI improvements for emergency rescue, speed dial, and calling interface. It also enables users to now assign a specific SIM for a specific contact or group of contacts when using dual-SIMs.
