Android Oreo was launched back in August. The Nexus 6P devices started facing connectivity issues with Android Auto once they were upgraded to the then latest Android 8.0. This happened again with the Nexus 5X devices in November, after the November security patch was installed in them.
The issue was pretty much the same with both the devices. The Android Auto was not getting launched or connected. Even the car’s system or the head unit was failing to recognize the device.
Well, as it seems, the issues are going to come to an end with the latest Android 8.1 update. This morning, there was an official announcement from Google confirming that Android 8.1 will come with a fix for these Android Auto connectivity issues.

Even before Yurrim could post this news, a number users had already confirmed the issue getting fixed once they updated their devices to Android 8.1.
