Google has launched the public beta for Android P today. This beta is made available not only to the Google-made phones but also on Oppo’s R15 Pro, Nokia’s 7 Plus, Sony’s Xperia XZ2, Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 2S, and Vivo’s X21, the still-unreleased OnePlus 6, and of course the Pixel and Pixel 2. Thus the users can get an early view of the next version of Android from the beta version.
Google Android P is a pack of many smart features that prioritizes the battery power only for the apps majorly used on the user’s device. App actions will help the user to get to his next task by instantly predicting what the user wants to do next. Android P has a feature called Slices, where the user can get a deeper look into his favorite apps.
This latest update is equipped with some more unique features like a new Dashboard, for instance, showing how much time a user has spent on a particular app. It also further detects how much time the phone has been unlocked with the notifications the user has received. If the user wants to set the time limit on the use of particular apps, he can set so with App Timer.
If the user is out on vacation or wants a good sleep, he just needs to turn on the Do Not Disturb mode, which silences the phone calls and notifications with the visual interruptions on the screen. Not just this it has a Wind Down feature which lets the user switch on night lights when it’s dark, and then it will further turn on the Do Not Disturb mode and fade the screen to grayscale at chosen bedtime. This will help the user to sleep on time.
The user can sign up through the link prescribed. But they must remember that the update comes up with a warning which mentions that once you are in the beta program you can’t go back. Even users may likely encounter bugs so he needs to be very careful while getting this update.
