While the Apple Watch Series 4 is announced with all band colors and band styles that fit any generation of Apple Watch, the new iPhone XS comes with a huge battery that lasts 30 minutes longer than the X and bears 4K video with a wider range.
The next generation of Apple smartwatches is out, and they will be called the name of Apple Watch Series 4. Hailed as the “intelligent guardian for your health” by the COO of Apple, Jeff Williams, the new smartwatch sports a slimmer bezel and larger display that has increased by 30 percent. Not only that, it has a high level of connectivity, fitness, and activity options making Tim Cook calls it “number one” among all watches in the world. Among other functionalities, Apple Watch Series 4 gets a new UI, digital crown with haptics, twice better performance, electrical heart sensor with ECG app, Bluetooth 5.0, optical heart sensor and a louder speaker, besides being wash proof.
The watch face has been remodeled with third-party developers like MLB and Lifesum. The Breathe application is the watch face itself, whereby the COO says that these “dynamic” watch faces interact with the large face, and the water from the edges splashes off the edges.
This new kid on the block uses a 64-bit processor, doubling the performance from before. Haptic feedback has been used in the Digital Crown and the speaker has been strengthened, along with other additional features like a refined next generation Gyroscope that when it detects an emergency, sends alert to call emergency services and if there’s no response in a minute, the call is made on its own.
Several new heart rate features have been added that can measure low heart rate, atrial fibrillation, has an inbuilt ECG that can directly function by putting finger on the watch’s digital crown. This has been appreciated by Ivor Benjamin, the president of the American Heart Association. Health and fitness are an on-device mechanism now; cloud support and outdoor workout can be extended to 6 hours.
