Apple has been on an innovation and experiment spree for a long time now. And Apple AirPods is a product by the brand that has needed a makeover for a long time, and a lot of users have said the same. The availability of AirPods in only white has been a concern for users who want funky AirPods.
In a recent leak, it was revealed that Apple was pretty close to working on the colored AirPods and launching them. Kosutami, who is an Apple prototype and rare products collector, showcased a colored MagSafe charger in Starlight, which is an iPhone color. The same source shared a few photos of colored AirPods cases.
The source further mentioned that Apple had plans to release the colored AirPod cases in 2016. According to plans of the Cupertino giant, it wanted to release Red, Purple, Blonde, Pink, and Black colored AirPods cases. The reason behind the same was that the company wanted to match the color of AirPord with iPhones (iPhone 7 series at that time). This is not the first time that some product was prototyped by Apple and failed to make it to the market.
Nonetheless, in the case of colored AirPods, they were canceled right before their launch in the market. The product already reached the design validation test (DVT) along with the product validation test (PVT).
