Apple was granted a series of 55 new patents by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The series includes three designs for iPhone X, HomePod, 4 and 8-speaker iPad Pros, Augmented Reality, Solar Power, a possible new 8-speaker iPad, and more.
The patent description of Apple’s HomePod reads the device describing: “stereo speaker arrays, and in particular to a speaker array which provides separate signals of audio content to multiple separate listeners over a wide range of audio frequencies.”
Several patents bring possible new features for the Smart Keyboard of iPad Pro. one of the titles goes: “Flexible keyboard accessory for a portable electronic device.” It thoroughly describes features that are highly likely to surface in the future.
As for solar panels, future mobiles and other devices can be charged utilizing those. This is ideal as Apple started celebrating Earth Day (April 22) last week.
Apple shows its technological insight via its patent claim #6: “the perforated surface comprises a resistive mesh material which is configured to at least partially restrict audio signal propagation through at least a portion of the mesh material.”
Subjects of other patents range from secure software updates to centralized beacon management service, cell utilization estimation by a wireless device etc.
