Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has made a statement about the release of the new iPad mini in his new report stating his expectations of Apple’s event which has been organised in lieu of the launch of the iPhone 16. The iPad mini is also supposed to resurface in the same event.
The new iPad mini is supposedly going to be released at the October event along the launch of the first Macs with the M4 series of chips, including the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac. The debut of the M4 chip has been done with the launch of iPad Pro. In the previous year that is 2023, Apple had organized an online event on October 30 to launch the MacBook Pro and iMac models with the M3 series of chips.
However, this year’s event has not received any official confirmation by Apple. Previously Apple released the current iPad mini in September 2021, with features that include a larger 8.3-inch display, a USB-C port, a Touch ID power button, the A15 Bionic chip, 5G support on cellular models, a 12-megapixel rear camera with Center Stage support, compatibility with the second-generation Apple Pencil and even more notable features.
In an official capacity, no new features of the seventh-generation iPad mini has been planned. However there had been rumors circulating previously that claimed that the new iPad mini will have rumors have a faster chip, upgraded front and rear cameras, a fix for “jelly scrolling” screen tearing in portrait orientation, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 support.
Appearance-wise wise there will be an additional set of colour options for the users. Ming-Chi Kuo, who is Apple’s supply chain analyst had stated that the next iPad mini would be produced in the second half of 2024, so there is guaranteed confirmation from multiple credible sources about the device being updated and launched this year.
Finally, Mark Gurman has officially claimed that the “new iPads” will be released at the October event. Therefore this upgrade might provide updates for the entry level iPads that had been previously released. It is needless to say that the iPad mini upgraded version is indeed going to be a lucrative addition to the Apple family and consumers are excited for the official announcement.
