A new rumor suggests that Apple will release the second-generation wireless earbuds on March 25 with many new features. The Apple AirPods 2 will boast a fast Qi wireless charging technology, enabling the device to charge in just 15 minutes.
Max Weinbach, a tipster on Twitter, said that the upcoming AirPods 2 would take only 15 minutes to get fully charged up and to provide fast wireless charging technology, the AirPods will require more Qi coils which will make it more substantial in weight and thicker in design.
Weinbach not only reconfirms the claims of Apple launching its AirPods 2 within the next few months. He also stated that the speed of fast wireless charging includes the AirPods case and the wireless earbuds. Weinbach noted that the case would have to be bigger and heavier to achieve the results. If the claims are taken to be valid, then it would be a considerable improvement since the first generation AirPods already has a battery life of five hours plus 24 hours back up in the case. Weinbach further added that Apple would stick to Qi standards for wireless charging on the AirPods 2.
The tipster adds that one of the most anticipated features of iOS 13, the dark mode, might take some more time to reach the iPhones and iPad tablets. Apple now seeks to bring the upcoming mode in iOS 13.1 as the work of the feature is running behind schedule.
Apple is said to have an event on March 25 at the Steve Jobs Theatre where it would be launching the much-rumored web-series service along with the launch of hardware devices like AirPods 2 and updated iPads. Besides the March 25 keynote, the company will also hold a WWDC event in June this year where it may launch OS 13, watchOS 6 and macOS 10.15.
