Apple recently rolled out the iOS 16 on a global level that packs multiple features like lock screen customization and a new Haptic Keyboard feedback. Apple has issued a warning that if the feature is kept on for longer, it might affect your iPhone’s battery life.
As for the Haptic Keyboard, when you enable it in your iPhone, it provides you with vibration feedback as soon as you tap on the on-screen keyboard. This clearly increases the use of haptic motors, thus, resulting in the loss of battery on a higher scale.
Apple also published support last week stating that when the keyboard haptics is turned on, the iPhone’s battery life will be considerably affected. On the support page of Apple also explains the feature and also guides the users on how to enable the Haptic Keyboard.
The Low Power mode present on iPhone does not disable the Haptic Keyboard feature.
Apple has not mentioned the names of any specific models for the issue, so it can be said that the warning is for all of them. The Haptic Keyboard feature is switched off by default on all iPhones. The feature is also available on iOS 16 based on iPhones. It runs by utilizing the Taptic Engine included inside
the iPhones.
